Program/ project Title: Emergency Relief
Program/ project overview: The Emergency Relief Program is funded by the Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaCSIA) to assist individuals and families to deal with their immediate crisis situation. MultiLink provides Emergency Relief to migrants and refugees in need who live in Logan, Beenleigh and Beaudesert areas. We provide this service in a way that maintains dignity and encourages self-reliance.
Primary Focus:
- To provide short term emergency financial and material assistance such as supermarket vouchers, part payment of utility bills, medical bills etc.
- To provide support plans for clients seeking assistance to build their capacity and encourage self-reliance
- To provide appropriate referrals to other services that help to address underlying causes of financial crisis.
Referral Criteria: Clients can be referred to access this service if they are migrants or refugees in need and live in Logan, Beenleigh or Beaudesert areas.
How to Refer: formal and Informal referrals are welcome
What happens after referral: Once a referral has taken place the Community Development Officer (CDO) will make contact with the client and arrange an interview appointment to access the eligibility of the client. This process is subject to funding, if there is no funding clients will be referred to other service providers.
